Mark attributes his success to the lessons that he has learned through athletics and is always eager inspire others to be the best they can be both in and out of the pool. Mark is involved in various outreach efforts locally, nationally, and internationally.
Champion2Champion
Mark and his wife, Ashley, developed Champion2Champion, a foundation that collects new and gently used swimming equipment and then donates this equipment to children, teams, and communities in need.
USA Swimming Foundation
Mark has assisted the USA Swimming Foundation and their Make a Splash Foundation by sharing his stories of hard work, determination, and safe swimming to school age children in various urban areas.
Right To Play
Mark was introduced to Right to Play while in Beijing during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. He became an Athlete Ambassador in the fall of 2008 and looks forward to continuing to support Right to Play and its mission, improving the lives of children in the most disadvantaged areas of the world by using the power of sport and play for development, health and peace.
